Precisely. The nonsense that is smart fridges and other kitchen paraphernalia beggars belief. Why do people complicate their lives so much? The internet goes down and bang, so does everything else. It's bad enough with DV when your landline goes off if the internet goes down or a power outage (depends on type of landline phone, I realise.

Just wanted to jump in and say how things were going with my "switch" to Sogfast. After i complained to BT my speed had gone from 148 to 75 the other week. I since contacted FileSanctuary and will be completing my switch on oct 20th. Not asap as i have still have one month left paying BT. They claim things will be 160 upwards. We will see. I thought well im still getting 70 i can cope for a month. Today it dropped to 7. Last week had a BT engineer come to check out things to make sure it was all good inside the home before this happened. He said 70 was right but on his system he reckoned my Halo 100 should actually support 100 and logged it that another engineer should come out. He did come and tested the pavement to the home and took the master socket off and also found no fault. After 1 hour on the phone to BT today with my speed at 7 , 30 mins into the call it magically went up to 70, the second i got off the call after the concclusion was they would send another (3rd) engineer it went straight back down to 7.  I am not wondering what the actual F is going on.

If you are now on FTTC (SoGEA) then the max is 80Mb , Halo is a benefits package , what is Halo100 is supposed to be ( Halo is either Halo 3 or Halo 3+ ( Halo 1 and Halo 2 are historic packages ) so what is Halo 100 , unless it’s a misrepresentation of FF 100 (150Mb on FTTP ) and Halo 3 or Halo3+, otherwise there is no such thing and you don’t have FTTP .

It will show the predicted speed for your address on SoGEA , given that Gfast was only ever offered to lines short enough to be worthwhile and the GFast was an extension pod on the copper cabinet which can’t be very far from the FTTC ‘cabinet’ you must have a relatively short line so the predicted speed should be 70-80Mb ….if you have been getting that but periodically that drops to much less (7Mb) then clearly there is a fault .
