I received an email saying my migration date to Digital Voice was 4/7/25. Late afternoon that day my dialling tone disappeared so as per the email instructions, I plugged my phone into the router and nothing !
A lengthy phone call later and it was established that BT had not given enough notice for migration to take place. I was told new migration date would be 14/07/25. The problem however was that the copper lines had been switched off on 4/7 hence no dial tone. I was told there was no going back from this and they cannot be switched back on .
By this time it was late Friday and the Migration team could not be contacted until Monday. No phone line all over weekend but I did get the promised call back on Monday 7th July telling me it was “Good news” and migration would take place by 23.59 that evening.
Fadt forward to this morning and needless to say phone not working.
Another lengthy phone call, the upshot of which was that migration will be 14/7/25 and no phone line for me until then.
To add insult to injury I received a text yesterday afternoon to say my complaint had been closed. I have made them reopen it but it should never have been closed until my service was operational.
I am very sceptical that migration will take place on 14/7. I think they have somehow “ lost” my number. Does anyone have any experience of this sort of delay and is there likely to be a positive outcome ? Can a number be compromised in some way or am I overthinking this ?
The people I have spoken to have all been helpful but despite this I remain without a landline.
Thanks for any help/advice.
have you tried restarting the BT router and then check hub manager to see if it shows your phone number and if configured or not
My problem exactly. Talked to numerous very helpful people but still the problem not fixed. We haven’t had the copper line switched off yet but DV not connected. Latest guy was fantastic and the problem has apparently been identified and passed to the Digital Integrity (DI) department. Expecting a call back on Wednesday. Thought this full fibre would be the bees knees but as far as DV is concerned it’s a nightmare.
