I was switched to Digital Voice but had to be renumbered after 20 odd years with old number , the number was originally NTL World now Virgin Media and was being returned to them. Apparently my number was not able to be ported correctly. To cut a long story short, I was until 3rd June able to use my old phone number make and receive calls, however since then if anyone calls my old number the line goes directly to voicemail which I never had set up. Obviously anyone using my old number now will think that they have left a message for me. I Have contacted BT but they say nothing they can do and I should contact Virgin media I am not a Virgin Media Customer. Surely the old phone number should be unobtainable its only 6 days ago it was removed BT should be responsible for ensuring my old number was terminated correctly I would have thought.

Having spoken with a BT advisor, they are going to try and re number me back to that original number, However looking at the order that is not due for 9 days. Wonder if it will port correctly this time round. However it does not remedy the fact that calls are going straight to the voicemail of that number.
When I switched back to BT from EE quite recently I was allocated a temporary "new" number and my old BT number was restored as promised on the due date so fingers crossed and all that.

My Renumbering back to my original number has switched correctly this time. although The re numbering order did not close for several days . Just had the email from BT stating all was now working. what a palaver Digital switchover caused me. Nearly a month of trying to get sorted.
