Digital Voice with non-BT broadband provider

I am both a BT and Virgin Media customer having my current analogue landline (POTS) with BT and my broadband with VM.

In the BT Digital Voice VoIP scenario how will my landline work?

  • Will I be able to continue to use my existing analogue phones?
  • How will I connect these to the VoIP network?
  • What additional equipment will I require?
  • What additional costs might I incur?
  • If I already have VoIP handsets, will I be able to connect these to BT Digital Voice in place of or along with my analogue handsets?

As a more general question, how will the switchover work for customers who have analogue handsets but no broadband connection? I'm thinking specifically of older family members who do not currently embrace such technologies.

@Felim_Doyle

BT would probably provide you with a suitable interface box using a low speed broadband connection.
