Hi I'm considering using the reset function on the handset to try and resolve a recurring message of Connecting to Hub and Synchronising Handsets. (I have two).
What does the reset do? Specifically will my contacts disappear and need inputting again?
How can I make a copy of my contacts just in case they do disappear?
Many thanks
Solved! Go to Solution.
Contacts are held in the hub rather than the handset. They can be backed up and it is a good idea to do so anyway as a factory reset of the hub deletes the contacts.
From the hub manger (192.168.1.254) select Phone > Contacts > export
The problem is caused by faulty batteries in the phones, this is a well known issue.
You can prove this by temporarily swapping the batteries to ordinary alkaline ones, but do not put it on the charger base.
If the phone works with alkaline batteries, then it proves the rechargeable ones are no good, and need replacing.
Contacts are stored in the home hub, not the phones.
Many thanks I'll give it a go
Many thanks I'll give it a go.
Hi I've tried to back up my contacts but when I opened the downloaded file the only number in there was my mobile number not the hundred plus that are on the landline. Any idea why that should be? I thought it had gone too well.
They are all there. The default program that opens .vcf files only displays the first entry. If you open the file with Notepad you will see all the contacts.
You are absolutely right, they are all there in Notepad 👍😃 thanks
