Handset already showing on activation day

I had an email in the early hours of today saying digital voice has now been activated on my line. 

I had already paired my adapter before the activation date, but had not at any time plugged my phone into the adapter. 

I checked the phone settings on the hub this morning to check the andapter had registered and was surprised to see Handset listed as registered as well as the adapter listed as registered to my landline. 

is this normal ? Should I deregister the handset ?
