Help with checking phone lines, possibly deactivated, on my house

Hi,

I am having a new front door installed on my property and the work could affect some phone cables. I think the cables could be inactive as they were part of an old now unused burglar alarm system, but the wiring looks complicated ( for me anyway ) and it is hard to determine if my current active phone/broadband line would be affected by these other lines.

How do I go about requesting an engineer visit for advice. Is this something for BT ( my phone/broadband provider) or should I contact BT OpenReach?

Thank you

@bl00tered

There is no such company as BT Openreach, its just Openreach.

As to who to contact, its a bit of a grey area, as Openreach would be responsible for any of their wiring prior to your phone master socket.

Personally I would find a local telecoms person to take a look, and trace any wiring for you, and determine whether its phone or alarm wiring.
