Re: Home phone service upgrade (DV?) - impact on other services using landline

@grainywand- My parents are in a similar situation to you: telephone with BT (since forever) and broadband with EE (via Freeserve in 1999, which became Wanadoo, then Orange, then EE). Obviously BT and EE are now the same provider, using exactly the same internet hub, but BT still say my parents will have to migrate to one or the other brand for both services! Surprisingly (given that BT Residential is apparently being phased out), they suggest going with BT. My parents are happy with this, so long as they can keep their Home Phone Saver plan. Why they can't continue to be billed separately for each service by each brand, until BT Residential is switched off, I've no idea. Older people don't like too much change at once and, in this case, there's no need for it. Once moved to Digital Voice their BT home phone plan can, technically, be delivered over their EE hub.

Hi there, @Tim123.

Whilst there was a previous shift towards EE as our flagship consumer brand, BT residential will remain one of our core brands, and remains available to both new and existing customers.

If your parents have broadband and landline through separate providers, the simplest option would always be to consolidate these into a single provider, but so we can be sure we've explored all your options it's definitely worth reaching out to our team.
