Dear Community,
We moved to Digital Voice a few weeks ago. To optimise the position of our new Smart Hub 2 router, we want to move it nearer to the centre of the room so purchased a 5m cable to link our approx 6 year old BT Decor 2600 phone to the router.
We are currently on our third cable, but each time the phone won't work - the dial tone is replaced with a buzz, the hands free option has no dialing tone, and although the phone rings when rung, you can't answer (it just keeps ringing). We have reverted to the existing (short) cable in the meantime which works, but are at a loss on how to resolve this. (Our latest cable came from the Telephone Service Centre and should be specifically compatible with a BT Decor)
Any ideas please? Many thanks.
You should need nothing special, just a normal phone extension cable, with a plug on one end and a socket on the other. Do not bother trying to replace the existing cable, its more trouble than its worth.
You can get extension cables at all lengths.
