I have just found an error message on the BT Decor 2600, after several months trouble-free, that says "please check line cord" although the cord is firmly connected at both ends; a call could not be received recently, from a hospital clinic that supports lymphoma patients. I had to receive an e-mail instead regarding the matter.

You would appear to have a line fault which you need to report to BT.

TBH , you should probably try another phone before reporting your service faulty , if it’s your phone rather than the service at fault you will be wasting your own time waiting in for Openreach as well as Openreach’s time if they visit , connect a different handset and it works …..if you are on DV (digital voice ) so your phone is connected into the router socket , rather than the wall socket you could also try resetting the router .
