Landline number porting problem when conversion to digital

BT has been unable to port my existing landline number when upgrading to full fibre.  I can make outgoing calls but not receive calls.  It is now over three weeks with no resolution.  BT seem unable to give a reason, it should have a straight forward move to digital without any change in service. Broadband working fine, phone plugged in correctly all cabling to house checked by Openreach and ok.

Re: Landline number porting problem when conversion to digital

Good morning @pjs-sn25.

Welcome to the BT Community, and I'm disappointed to hear that you've been struggling to make progress with these port issues.

When you're making calls out from your Digital Voice phone, is the correct number showing up?

How were things left with you when last speaking with our team, too?

Re: Landline number porting problem when conversion to digital

It wa claimed yesterday that the problem had been resolved but I have found I have been given a new number, without being told.  I have previously said I did not want this as I had the last number for 40 years and this was a migration not at my request and would rather go back to copper if it couldn't be done.  They said they had spoken to the connections team and it would be done by midnight last  night, it hasn't.  When I have the patients will ring later and add to my current total of nearly three hours on hold.

Thanks for the update here @pjs-sn25.

If you've had the same number for such a long period, I can totally understand why you'll be keen to make sure you keep hold of this.

Whilst we don't have account access via these forums to advise on how exactly things are progressing, please keep us posted on how you get on, and we can help point you in the right direction for getting this escalated should you struggle further.
