My BT4600 is blocking some calls

I had blocking turned on in my BT4600 and had blocked a number of nuisance lines. Recently I discovered that it had blocked my bank and several friends too. I have turned blocking off for now but want to turn it on again. How do I stop it blocking calls that I want to receive ?

Edit the entries in the phone address book and delete the blocked numbers. If you list each entry, it will tell you whether its blocked or not.

Thanks for that but I do not know the number used by the bank and whose to tell if it doesn`t happen again. The last time it blocked the bank call it prevented a payment going through. What I need is a permanent solution. Perhaps there is a fault in the BT4600 base station ?

Use the down arrow on the calls listing, and it will show all your recent calls. Against each one it will show whether the call was missed, answered, announced, or blocked, etc.

Use the options selection to change the status.

You can then edit that entry to allow the number if you blocked it by mistake. Banks usually use their own advertised number for automated calls.

Thank you. I am probably being dim and at 96 years old, this happens, but I can not see how deleting numbers from various lists will solve this problem. I need to know how they appeared on a list in the first place as I certainly did not put them there. And before you ask, no, I did not accidentally press the block button, for that would require confirmation. I am concerned that a number will be blocked that will lead to serious consequences, so until this problem is solved I will have to leave blocking disabled. If anyone has any ides, I would love to hear them.

Are you sure its the phone that is blocking calls? All calls whether they are blocked or not, still show in the list of recent calls when you press the down button, with their status.

If they are not showing there, then perhaps BT Call Protect is blocking the calls, I assume you are a BT customer? BT Call Protect has been known to block legitimate calls.
