My reference to Cat5 was laziness on my part. Sorry.
Yes looked it up.
This isn't going to be a problem at all and should work well for both FTTC as I have now and FTTP at some time in the future.
So purely as a matter of interest, for someone without Broadband and just a telephone service when they go over to DV and FTTP they will need TWO mains outlets, one for the ONT and one for whatever device, a router of some kind, that provides the phone service?
Yes. Sorry, I thought I made that clear in my first post.
They don't need much though. I run two routers and an ONT through an extension lead. Total is about half an amp.
Yes all clear now.
This has been most useful and I am grateful for the time everyone has taken to answer my questions.

I have also used my copper Lines in my property connected to Router only problem i found was having copper line which connected before Digital voice to my Master socket was giving echo as 2 signals were coming into master socket from Router one from copper line outside live from Exchange still connected to master socket When Teck team came to change me over to Digital Voice they had no idea why I was getting echo on my line they told me they have never seen this type of connection before which is common sense The Teck team just left without solving problem. i used common sense and realized that the signal from copper line was still connected to master socket from exchange when i cut of connection from outside it works
& all my sockets in my property are live without any convertors it Begger's belief why BT did not recommend this would have solved sending convertors for telephone lines
