My reference to Cat5 was laziness on my part. Sorry.

Yes looked it up.

This isn't going to be a problem at all and should work well for both FTTC as I have now and FTTP at some time in the future.

So purely as a matter of interest, for someone without Broadband and just a telephone service when they go over to DV and FTTP they will need TWO mains outlets, one for the ONT and one for whatever device, a router of some kind, that provides the phone service?

Yes.  Sorry, I thought I made that clear in my first post.

They don't need much though.  I run two routers and an ONT through an extension lead.  Total is about half an amp.
