@chrisjp I'm not insinuating that the original poster is doing anything wrong at all, but it would appear you believe I might be suggesting they are. I was merely pointing out that anyone can make a post claiming that they've got an elderly neighbour with a problem and people just will accept that what has been stated is true.
Whilst it might be a nice neighbourly thing for someone to believe they can get themselves involved in, it really isn't anything to do with them whether you or me or anyone else thinks it is. If there is an issue, there are organisations that the neighbour can contact to help out their neighbour.
The person that is wanting to help their neighbour will not be given any account access or information regarding the account also prior to any help being given the account holder will need to answer security questions and then give permission to BT to allow the person to act on their behalf.
However in this instance the person is not wanting account access or make any changes to the elderly person's account.
They are only wanting to report that the person's phone line is not working which will be easily established by BT if that is the case without giving out any personal information belonging to the elderly person.
Out of interest which may prove helpful to others, what organisations are you referring to that the OP can contact to help out their neighbour with regards to her phone not working?
@gg30340 Well for one, if the neighbour is that elderly and vulnerable, Adult Social Care, who can if required visit and see what help the individual requires. My own MiL who lives a couple of hundred miles away has just recently had an enormous amount of help from Help the Aged, sorted her out with a replacement boiler, installed various aids to assist mobility etc and put her in touch with others who can help her with finances, utilities etc.
If you think you’re somehow being clever by trying to catch me out, crack on.
I am not trying to catch you out. You are more than capable of doing that your self.
How quickly did it take to get the boiler replaced and the various aids etc installed. Was the request for help made over the phone because unfortunately the elderly person in this threads phone is not working.
Do you not know of any elderly person that had a faulty phone line reported on their behalf and how that was achieved which would be a bit more relevant to this thread.
Yeah whatever. I’m done with you.
