New phone line

Today Openreach installed a new telephone line over my property and it is going through my trees. Surely this is not acceptable, am I responsible for the line when it has clearly not been planned very well in the first instance?

Should I contact Openreach and get them back out to discuss this situation.

You could try reporting it here, although I'm not sure they'll accept it as a safety issue.

Lines can go through trees  - mine does. It’s a bit of a concern that it could wear from rubbing on the branches but they seem to leave a bit more slack to allow these lines to move with the tree.

There is just no option in many cases as they aren’t going to install another pole to go around the tree just for you. Much cheaper just to replace the line if it eventually breaks.
