No voice or ringing audible - Advanced digital cordless phone

Hi,

*UPDATE for anyone interested - below issue SOLVED by rebooting modem, reestablishing internet connection!

For the past week I've had the following problem with my BT Advanced Phone with 100% call blocking and answer machine (cordless):

- whenever I try to call someone on any one of my three registered handsets I can dial and ring the number, the person I'm calling receives the call but when they pick up they hear total silence

- similarly, whenever somebody tries to call me all three handsets play a ringtone as normal, I can pick up the call by pressing the green receive call button but I hear nobody at the other end of the line

I've tried the following, as per user guide:

- ensured batteries are fully charged in all three handsets

- ensured power is on and that power adaptor is plugged into a working mains socket and also base unit for all three handsets

- checked both ends of the supplied line cord are connected securely

- checked BT call blocking is switched off

- removed batteries, line cord and mains power and waited for 10 minutes, before reconnecting and trying again for all three handsets

- checked all three handsets are registered to their bases

- in call settings, checked 'auto answer' is 'Off' on all three handsets along with 'Auto end call'

I'm wondering if there could have been a software update for the handsets that didn't download correctly?

The current handset software version (in settings) as follows: XH08323_H724, base software XB0810_B7001

Any guidance or help very much appreciated,

Nick (son of Penny, whose landline it is)
