Odd landline incoming call

Recently had a couple of land line calls and the number shows up as my number. What’s this about - scammer ?

Re: Odd landline incoming call

Probably, scammers can ‘spoof’ the CLI (calling line information) to anything they want , why they use the same number for the CLI as the number they are calling is something of a mystery, perhaps they think it’s ’reassuring’ if someone checks the phone display before answering , or more likely if the call is missed and the customer uses 1471 to check the last number that called in , it will be their own number read back to them

Any way to stop this. I’m afraid my wife might answer.

Other than a call blocking Truecall type phone, no.

Have you answered one of the calls? Voicemail can call you in this way, you can check if you have a voicemail waiting by dialling 1571
