Alright, so, I used to have a landline number that we got rid of about 2 years ago. Providing the number is not in use, how much would it be to 'buy' this number so I can port it to sipgate (VoIP)? I'm sure BT allow porting but just wanted to know about the costs involved... would this require me to subscribe to a phone package just to be able to get the number transferred?
Welcome to this user forum for BT Retail phone and broadband customers.
That would not be possible, as numbers that have been inactive for more than 28 days, cannot be retrieved.
All new BT Retail phone numbers are provided using BT Digital Voice, as the old analogue phone network is in the process of being closed down.
Existing BT Retail customers who are still on the old analogue network, are being moved over to BT Digital Voice, and retaining their existing number.
