Only 1 phone works

I changed to digital,  at first neither phone worked properly.   They were replaced,  now the upstairs phone works but the downstairs one doesn't, bit hard receiving calls.   BT is virtually impossible to get hold of, that AI chat thing is just c*** as it does not understand what I'm trying to ask.  I've just been trying to register handset to hub, I've no idea what the pin number is (after 2 years).  I did try buying a new phone from Amazon but when you put in digital phone all phones come up.  Tried Argos put in digital phone and a heater came up 🤨.  Any ideas?

Have you tried replacing the batteries?

Even when it did work it would make a stupid tinkle and disconnect you. The two original ones both did that.

so have you tried replacing the batteries as there are other similar posts where the batteries of new phones needed replaced as they would not hold charge
