Openreach think they've fixed my fault

When it rains my landline fails to ring, and crackles really badly when using it. So I used the online fault-finding service and arranged for an Openreach engineer to come out next week.

Now Openreach are texting to say they've fixed the fault and they want to cancel the call-out. Now it's stopped raining of course the fault seems fixed, but it will come back when it rains again. If the engineer comes out on a dry day he may still be able to spot where water is getting in, but if he can't will I get a penalty charge for there being no fault?

There is no charge if Openreach can not find a fault.

Openreach don't need to attend to fix the fault. They'll see on their PDA where it is.
