Phone not ringing

My dad’s home phone (set up for digital voice) has started ringing once and then going straight to voicemail. It started doing it when I was abroad and my dad swears he’s done nothing to it. I’ve checked and apparently there is no call forwarding or divert turned on - has anyone experienced anything similar? I’ve gone through troubleshooting and line checks, but apparently no issues

Sorry to hear you're dad's having an issue with the phone rings. 
If all settings have been checked, it may be a technical fault with the router. 
There are a few things to check - 

Which handset make/model are you using for the landline phone? It may be a sudden compatibility issue. 
Do you have access to a wired-handset that you could test in the back of the router?

Have you tried a full reset of the router hub? 

If those steps don't resolve you're issue, you'd need to call Customer Service who can diagnose the hub and replace if needed.
