A few years ago following storms in the North East many residents lost home power for days and those that had been converted to fibre lost their digital phone service and were unable to charge mobiles etc so were effectively isolated. As a result BT halted the roll out of fibre to reassess and consider this type of situation. A newspaper article as recent as 2022 refers...

Does the community have any knowledge of any outcome of BT's reconsider? I understand the standby power pack was and is available but this outage I refer to was so widespread and caused such an outcry there seemed to be pressure on the company to come up with a solution. As far as I am aware the roll out now continues.
the roll out of DV is now continuing. Battery back-ups may be available to vulnerable customers.
are you registered as a vulnerable person without mobile signal? if mobile works then having a small power bank to charge mobile would be good investment
