Problem with adding a number to BT Call Protect

I first tried to use the dial 1572 option, which proved to be completely useless.  I was told my Call Protect list was turned on but NOT how to add a number to the list.  So I then tried the My BT route, which in theory was very straightforward.  But I was unable to access the Call Protect page because my account number was not recognised. The My BT home page turned out to have two different numbers listed for me, albeit that one of them was marked "Inactive".  So I then checked what was the account number listed on my most recent phone bill.  And that proved to be identical to the Inactive one.  However, I then found that the BT system did not recognise EITHER of the two numbers it had listed for me on My BT.  So I am now completely stumped.

Can anyone advise me on how to resolve this, please?  I have wasted so much time already.

Hello I use Call Protect 1572. You can't "add" a number to the list. You have to answer the phone, when the number you want to block has called, and then call 1572 straight after followed by pressing 1 to add the last number answered to the block list .

Hope this helps 😃

Re: Problem with adding a number to BT Call Protect

A complete waste of time. The numbers are spoofed and the scammers have an infinite amount of numbers to choose from, they don't use the same number every time.

Blacklisting is pointless, the only way to prevent scam calls is whitelisting.
