Re: Choosing the correct router for our needs

Another inconsistency, now you say FTTP when previously you said no FTTP was available

I assumed that was a typo given the predicted 10Mb speed.

Yes, well that's the point you see. FTTP wasn't and still isn't currently available, which is why it was odd that we were alerted by the email to expect it with the engineer's visit. In fact that was one of the reason's he aborted the installation along with a presumed loss of dialling tone from using the Smart Hub 2.

Although I've no plans to trade as a business I am likely to be participating in international scientific conferences and will have to do so remotely as I have elderly dependents to care for, and so the promise of faster speeds (albeit an apparently false one from what you are saying) was appealing. And we've had the same number for half a century and so I'm keen to retain it.

The fourth and last engineer to visit actually cancelled the business order from his side and from there it remained in limbo. The last I heard was from Customer Resolutions who were supposed to call me yesterday to confirm I wanted to cancel and then pass me over to the residential (or perhaps I should say consumer?) team but so far I haven't heard from them. They also failed to email me as promised so that I could state in writing  exactly what I am requesting so as to avoid another potentially aborted installation.

Thank you for your help and patience, as with your fellow customers who have been looking at my case. I have  gone back though the pages and ticked the ratings boxes. For completeness and while I am awaiting further action I may run some of the ideas discussed past the Business Forum to see if I can glean any further useful information but it does rather look as if the residential/consumer service is the better option. If the installation goes well I may have to return to at a latter date to try and get the old phones function.

Thanks again.
