Recent increase in scam callers

I’ve had digital voice for a fair few years now and scam callers have been few and far between, maybe one a month if that but recently I have started receiving a few a week.  I thought digital voice improved BT’s ability to filter spoofed numbers and scam callers?  It appears not!

Do I need to go back to one of the phones that filters all incoming calls except the ones you place on a list?

I just let the answer phone answer initially and then pick up if someone starts leaving a message.

Scammers just hang up when an answer phone answers.  The exception is the computer generated ones, but they're obvious anyway.
