Re: Router in secondary socket for digital voice

We will be made aware if there is a problem with her connection and being registered as vulnerable will mean she is prioritised when it comes to repairs @vik9876.

Re: Router in secondary socket for digital voice

Why is she paying for broadband she doesn't use? If she were telephone only she would be migrated to 'Pre-Digital Phone Line' (Home Phone Standard) where the switchover is done in the exchange and nothing changes in the home, extensions still work and no risk of electrical power outage affecting the phone line. Given her vulnerable status it might be worth asking BT if they'd be willing to migrate her to PDPL. They probably won't, as having broadband precludes this, but you never know.

Re: Router in secondary socket for digital voice

I didn't know about the Pre-Digital Phone Line option. I heard about Digital Voice coming so I signed her up to broadband about a year ago so that she would already have a smart hub and to make sure that broadband was working OK. It's useful for me when I visit her and it gives us the option of setting up a WiFi camera in future.
