Scammers Now Using Customised Spoof Calling Numbers

We are getting at least 20 calls a week from Asian scammers using several different automated messages pretending to be from "Bank Security", "Amazon" and "Mastercard".

Recently they have started displaying customised spoof numbers, similar to ours, which makes them harder to spot even with caller display. Our digital voice phone flags them as "Out of Area" but it also does that to our doctors and local hospitals so we risk blocking those if we are too aggressive with our filtering....

Is there any way to increase the 100 limit on the Call Protect Blacklist?

As mentioned by others, the design of the blacklist makes maintenance a pain. Deleting the last entry takes you back to the top of the list, exactly the opposite of what is needed. A multiple delete facility would be much better in the absence of a more appropriate size - say 1000.

Are BT doing anything to stem the flood of scam calls?

Re: Scammers Now Using Customised Spoof Calling Numbers

Blacklists are a waste of time, the scammers can use an infinite amount of numbers.

The only sensible way to stop scammers is by a whitelist where callers not on the list have to announce themselves to get through
