My old routers never die, they get reconfigured as WAPs. I have got to the stage I need a bigger house.
Not really the case as there are many VOIP providers completely independent of ISPs & there are ISPs that don't provide VOIP.

I was really referring to those that rely on the existing analogue phone network, which is being de-commissioned. As you say, some may choose to drop voice services altogether, and concentrate on broadband, leaving those customers who want a phone service, to look at third party VOIP providers.
