We have BT broadband and a Smart Hub. We have been told we are being changed to Digital Voice soon. The instructions are a little confusing. It implies we are getting a new broadband router - a Smart Hub 2 - does this mean our old Smart Hub will not work with Digital Voice? Or will we have TWO routers - one for Digital Voice and one for our current broadband/wi-fi?

Unless your old router is a BT Smart Hub 2, it cannot be used with BT Digital Voice. The BT Smart Hub 2 has a socket to plug in your phone, and a DECT base station for the new BT phones, if you choose to use them.
You will need to replace you smart hub with the smart hub 2 as the SH does not work with digital voice.
You make changeover easier by changing the new SH2 SSID (name) to that of the existing SH and also keep same password and and therefore your wireless devices will connect without any problems
