Spoofing my telephone number

This morning at 08:56:15, I received a call from my own number, it was annotated as "Nuisance" on the handset.

Also logged in my recent callers.

This is not the first time this has happened.

Is it possible for BT to trace the origin of this call?????

Re: Spoofing my telephone number

No , it not traced , arguably its traceable, but that a pointless endeavour, the IP address may be logged , but it’s a spam call , hence BT indicating it as a probable nuisance call …..BT do intercept huge quantities of these calls and continually act against them , but these scammers are not stupid people , and often operate in places where law enforcement don’t regard this as a serious matter, enabling the scammers to operate pretty much unhindered.

Re: Spoofing my telephone number

Thanks for the swift reply.

On investigation, I found that the call was actually from Parcelforce.

The call went to voice mail and was logged at 0855 according to the voicemail message.

So I wonder how it is that the handset shows my number and is annotated as nuisance?

Same thing happened last time I was expecting a Parcelforce delivery.

Re: Spoofing my telephone number

I am rather concerned about this situation, if my handset is showing my own telephone number as Nuisance, if I now make a call, will it show on the recipients handset as Nuisance ???
If so, will BT remove my number from the Nuisance list?

Re: Spoofing my telephone number

Why not simply call someone and find out.
