Is it feasible to use mobile phones as additional handsets with the Digital Voice landline from BT and if so then are there Apps/information to help BT customers using their mobile phones as handsets?

Mobile phones do not use DECT, they use either the mobile network, or Wi-Fi.
BT Digital Voice uses DECT to communicate with the BT handsets.
So the answer would be no.

Re: Using Mobile Phone as a Handset with Digital Voice
digital voice connects to SH2 base by dect not wifi so mobile will not connect to base. you could divert all incoming calls to your mobile especially if BT mobile

Re: Using Mobile Phone as a Handset with Digital Voice
You can use call diversion completely free of charge if the mobile you are diverting to is on the BT network but of course you are limited to 1 phone

Re: Using Mobile Phone as a Handset with Digital Voice
Thank you all. I remember using the BT SmartTalk App a few years ago to make VoIP (landline) calls from mobile phones. This was when our landline wasn’t using VoIP/DV. Surely with the VoIP/DV landlines, it must be technically feasible to implement something where we can utilise our mobile phones with our landline system instead of spending money and power for separate landline phones.

Re: Using Mobile Phone as a Handset with Digital Voice
then why not just get Broadband without landline (still need to pay line rental) and use your mobile instead?

Re: Using Mobile Phone as a Handset with Digital Voice
I understand the question as I want to do the same thing. It’s all about keeping the landline number - which is like your home address for many people. When someone rings that I would like my mobile to ring, as well as any other phones connected directly to the DV service. It’s standard VoIP so why not over the Wi-Fi. Noting to do with DECT.

Re: Using Mobile Phone as a Handset with Digital Voice
Hi @hollandpt You could use the BT Premium Phones plugged into the Smart Hub 2 which will give you a Bluetooth connection so you can answer your calls on your mobile.
