ring time and de activate voice mail

why can't tech people sort the glitches out for at least 6 months in a designated area before activating the sytem to all...so ruddy complicated I just WANT answer the phone be 4 it goes into voicemail mode,but I cannot be as fast as Flash be for it goes to voicemail. i've tried all  of ''you tube'' and BT techs. i have also asked can i get a phone that can actually works ie. just answer a phone with no time limit to answer a call before voicemail takes over. Can't BT Guru's fix this, without extra cost to the customers.

Are you talking about a landline phone or mobile?

If landline, is it Digital Voice (over the internet) or a copper line?

What have you tried so far?

new Digital Voice..*#67*11 press green dial button. note +44 no. the ring then dial *61*+44 no. then *11*..then enter no. of secs then press green dial...did'nt work...and i've just found out BT should have given me a User Guide book...all I want is to have the ring time to mins not secs beforer voice mail kicks in, all of my friends etc are fed up leaving messages..

I'm not sure you've got the syntax correct, it looks like you're missing a #

I believe you can only set the 1571 answer phone to a maximum number of 10 rings (30 seconds).

You may be able to remove 1571 following - https://www.bt.com/help/landline/how-do-i-cancel-bt-answer-1571-
