unblocking a number accidentally blocked

Go to solution

Hi folks, my elderly aunt cannot get through to another aunt on the 2nd aunts landline, she gets a message saying the 2nd aunt has chosen not to accept her call. Aunt #2 doesnt know why this should be. I suspect shes accidentally entered some code or pressed a button but as im in the midlands and they are in yorkshire its not as easy as dropping in and seeing what model of phone she has and checking it out. Ive set up this BT id thing but keep being told they can't access the account details at the moment. Maybe because there was nowhere to enter her account number when I set it up. Its all a big complication, probably like this message, but I'm hoping somebody out there can offer me some advice so I can sort this problem out. Each of the elderly aunts rely on daily contact which is somewhat problematic just now. Thanks in advance, jojo

Hi @jojo29,

Welcome to the BT Community

If you think your aunt may have blocked the other mistakenly, it is possible it has been added to her blocklist using Call Protect Using Call Protect with Digital Voice | Home Phone Help | BT | BT Help

The blocklist should be manageable via logging into the website or by calling 1572. You mentioned not being asked for an account number when creating a BTID but it would have asked for an account number during the setup. When you are logged in can you see any account details? If you login and then select My Details> Account> Add Account are you able to get it linked up?

One of our guides can also check and remove numbers from a blocklist, if your aunt was able to give us a call.
