Alternative Router

Can anyone recommend an alternative  router for the smarthub 2. I have FTTP & would like to be able to split the wifi signals. I don't use landline. TIA

Re: Alternative Router

That's like asking for recommendations for a car. Only you know what whistles and bells you want and what your budget is. Any PPPoE capable router with a WAN port (which will be virtually all)  will suffice.

Re: Alternative Router

If splitting the SSIDs is the only requirement then an FTTP variant of the original Smart Hub would do the job for little cost from Ebay or Facebook Marketplace.

But you need to ensure that the 4th ethernet port is a red WAN port as unlike the SH2, I don't think the standard versions can be reconfigured.

Re: Alternative Router

I would keep the Smarthub 2, turn off wireless and add a wireless point. Either a something like an Ubiquity or a repurposed router (turn dchp off) that had decent wireless performance.
