BBU Charge
Hello,
I have just joined BT. Our broadband was supposed to begin yesterday but it’s still on an orange light. This is because our BBU had a fault so I replaced the batteries.
The light on the BBU is now yellow despite being replaced with new rechargeable batteries. How long does it take to charge and turn Green?
Hope this makes sense!

Re: BBU Charge
The BBU is a throwback to when BT offered FVA and a phone could be connected to the ONT to provide telephony, this is now redundant , if you want to use the BBU that’s upto you but it isn’t required…it’s the status of the ONT itself ( not the battery back up unit ) that is important.
You can transfer the power lead from the BBU and insert into the ONT , these days ONT’s don’t get a BBU , the ONT is powered solely from the mains
