BT Premium Whole Home AX3700

Hi,

Just checking my Premium Whole Home discs and noticed that mine are set to the same channels as my neighbour, who is with Sky. I've been told this could cause interference and slow my Wi-Fi down.

So my question is how can I change my channels from his which are 6 and 36?

Many thanks

Re: BT Premium Whole Home AX3700

If it ain't bust already then don't fix it!

Both your Wifi and your neighbour's router will do their best to pick the best channel to maximise their throughput.  If you did set it manually there is nothing to say that you still wouldn't end up sharing a WiFi channel with a neighbour.  Since WiFi4 (n) our routers have been using "subchannels", so even if they appear on the same block, collisions and bleedover are minimised anyway.

There are a great many people still repeating the myths that stem from very early versions of WiFi and have pretty much been fixed.  So test, analyze, and only fix if it needs it!  *A good place to start would be to look that the Discs PHY rate if you can see it - remembering that 3700Mbps is for 2.4GHz and 5GHz channels combined!

I only learn by making mistakes and owning up to them - boy do I learn a lot!
