there are 2 versions of the SH2 - 1 with 4 Lan and other with 1 Wan and 3 Lan
There are 2 versions of SH2, one for FTTP, one for FTTC.
The why does the Smarthub type 2A update imply that there is an option for fttp in the display?
It’s all muddle at the moment, with various Openreach vans busy in the streets with logos “light source”. A marketing “pun”, perhaps. Don’t mind receiving a Smarthub type B, if and when fttp comes. Hope they send me someone to collect the old Hub, though.
Perhaps they have decided that 2 versions aren't a good idea and that the FTTC version can be configured to use one of the LAN ports as a WAN port. It would be nice if they published release notes for firmware but that's not going to happen!
Yep, that seems to be exactly what they've done. If you click the help icon next to that setting it says as much.
Does anybody know if BT has managed to fix the firmware glitch in the SH2 that has been there since it's launch. Reading various past posts people do get confused whether their SH2 is Opted in or Opted out of BT WiFi. See below the glitch. The main Homepage shows "Not active", but Technical Log shows "Activated".
@chrisdw Yes my SH2 is Not Active either. Seems that BT has not addressed this simple glitch that could help people understand the status of their SH2. Shame.
