Yes, it's just a legacy phone socket which is of no use to you.

As explained, the wall socket may be branded as BT , that’s a historic legacy of when BT were pretty much the only landline provider available, that socket may be decades old , but is part of the landline network, if you had ordered ‘landline’  broadband from BT ( or any other Openreach based provider ) that wall socket may be used ,but you don’t have landline based broadband from BT or anyone else so that socket is irrelevant.

You apparently have got  mobile broadband which isn't landline based , it’s using similar technology to a mobile phone , if it doesn’t work , you would need to speak to the company that supplied it ….it could be that in your  location the mobile signal isn’t good enough for this unit to function or it isn’t set up correctly , but as explained it’s nothing to do with the wall socket that happens to be branded as ‘BT’ .

It’s not people being rude but a degree of confusion.  I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding here:

If it is a 5g router it connects to a cell phone mast and has nothing to do with the phone socket.

Any ethernet cable provided will be to connect to your computer, or another piece of equipment provided by 3, not the phone socket.

The “network” you are referring to is purely for the phone/FTTC broadband and provided by Openreach, who are a separate company to BT these days.

And lastly, this forum, which is a customer-to-customer help forum, (not BT the company), is not in a position to offer help on third party equipment using the mobile phone network.

Edit: Typing at the same time as iniltous.
