Box not connected to internet

I am trying to connect my box to the Wi-Fi, I have followed the instructions and reset, unplugged and plugged every thing including the modem.

also I have noticed my box does not look anything like it does on the tutorial, it plugs into the wall instead of whatever the tutorial’s box shows

I think you need to be more specific about what "box" you have, and what you're trying to do with it.
When you say you are trying to connect it to the WiFi, do you mean you are trying to get the box connected up to your broadband service? The WiFi is typically then broadcast to your house once the box has a broadband connection.
Also, what broadband service are you using - over copper wire (in which case you need to connect the box to the BT master socket), or over fibre optic cable (in which case you need to connect the box to the ONT - a white box with green lights attached to an inside wall
