DLM & stand-alone modem

Go to solution

I want to implement a linux box router and anticipate much rebooting which under normal circumstances (integrated modem) would cause DLM to detect line drops and lead to speed scaling back. However, I will be using a stand alone modem (vigor 130). Am I right in thinking DLM, as a level 1 protocol, will consider the connection intact as long as I keep the modem powered and connected, despite router disconnects (from the modem).

cheers for your help

Indeed, DLM is only concerned with Layer 1 and as long as your modem is connected will not take any action as a result of anything you do with the router.
