Having just received a new EE Smart Hub plus an reading that I can utilise my spare BT Smart Hub 2 as a Wi-Fi extender via a direct Ethernet connection.
Is it also possible to utilise a second Ethernet port on the then connected BT Smart Hub 2 to connect another device, say an Ethernet connected Laptop?

Yes, all 4 Ethernet ports should be usable just like a normal Ethernet switch. If it is setup for fttp then one port will be set for WAN use, disable that in the setup if you need to use that port for Ethernet.
