Ethernet Cable into outbuilding/office

Hi all,

First post here.

I may not be asking the right questions, and nor do I understand the tech very well, so please do bear with me.

I have BT Full Fibre 500, and would like to extend WiFi coverage to my office/garden shed. The current set up has the Linksys Velop mesh system, but the node is unable to pick up a strong signal/connection given the distance. So I thought that a simple Cat 6 ethernet cable from the router/or modem to the node would enable that node act like a "second router". But it hasn't. I've tried various methods like connecting the Cat 6 from the primary node and also from one of the ethernet ports of the modem. I'm not sure what else to do? Or if what I'm trying to do is even possible.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks

Re: Ethernet Cable into outbuilding/office

Just run an Ethernet cable from your router to the outbuilding and add a separate wireless access point(WAP) independent of the mesh system.

Thanks for this!

Is there any that you would recommend? And I run the cable from the Smart Hub 2 ethernet port into the WAP? And lastly, does that make the node redundant in the outbuilding?
