Extending wifi

I have two Ring devices, gen2 doorbell & stick up camera.

Our flat is on the 1st floor in an 1850’s house, thick walls.
Door bell is external on ground floor. It has worked well for almost  3 years.

A couple off weeks ago the WiFi signal became intermittently too weak to stay online.

I suspected interference from other flats.

BT sent me a Black Disc, it won’t connect either by WiFi or ethernet, goes back to Red light.

Another Disc was supplied, same result, no. 3 arrived today, not tried yet. A BT engineer was booked to come this morning. Cancelled by BT 15mins after appointment time.

Getting somewhat frustrated.

Meanwhile ‘Stickup Ring camera performs fine via £20 TP WiFi extender. This used to connect door bell but started failing a couple of weeks ago 🙄

Re: Extending wifi

The problem with a wi-fi extender in your circumstances is where would you site it?

You might be better off, as a first step, changing the 2.4GHz band on your hub, there's only 3 channels to choose from on a BT hub so you can do it by trial and error

Re: Extending wifi

Thanks for reply, presently trying to set up disc 3!
Following BTapp method.
I’ve tried channel change on hub as advised by BT help line, they recommended 2.4 🤔
