Full Fibre 100 to Fibre 500

We currently have full fibre 100 with smart hub 2, we are thinking of changing to Full Fibre 500.

Do we need a BT expert to set up?  as they want to charge £30 for what?

Re: Full Fibre 100 to Fibre 500

It's akin to a booking fee when buying tickets, in other words a rip off. You could ring up and complain but I doubt you'll get any where.

And no you don't need to do anything your end

@Confused1959

the move from fibre 100 to 500 is an internal package move by BT and should not involve any visit or change to your setup just an increase in monthly cost.  as @Kodikid  posted if BT try and charge £30 then complain and I am sure charge will be waived

Thanks for your quick reply. There was a delivery and BT expert for £41.99 or delivery only for £11.99. I assume the £11.99 is for the "Complete WiFi " disc . After reading your reply I've gone for delivery only as BT claim they are easy to set up.

Trust me you certainly don't need an " expert " to set them up .

Really simple to do.

Re: Full Fibre 100 to Fibre 500

Getting a complete WiFi disk is about improving your internal house WiFi. It has nothing to do with changing your fibre 100 service to fibre 500.
If your internal WiFi is working OK at present, then you don't need a complete WiFi disk and shouldn't be paying for it. All you should be asked to pay is an increased monthly subscription for the upgraded fibre service.

We live in a early 1900's 4 bedroom house, WiFi signal very poor at rear of house, Hopefully a complete WiFi disk will sort this issue,

Re: Full Fibre 100 to Fibre 500

Ahh...so the fee that BT is asking you to pay is not for the Fibre 100 to Fibre upgrade (which is what your first post implied), it's for the supply of a Complete WiFi disk.
As your WiFi is poor at the rear of the house, you'd have needed a disk even if you don't upgrade to Fibre 500. The upgrade won't make your WiFi any better.
