Full fibre and complete wifi issues
Hello all I today had an engineer come to my house and install a new line for full fiber and complete Wi-Fi.
he had to put the hub downstairs in the annex as best place my office is upstairs in the main house so suggested to use the circle Wi-Fi. It was solid blue for a little while but after a little while after the guy left it is now solid orange meaning it’s working but poor signal how do I fix this do I need to contact bt and get them to send another engineer out to move the hub as the line is downstairs now. Or do I need to get more circle wifi extenders as I am paying for full fiber but only getting 40 download and 10 up it’s horrendous

Re: Full fibre and complete wifi issues
Hi @Sjones
Welcome to the Community.
The ideal place for the WIFI extender is part way between the hub and the location you need the signal, so that it picks up good strength from the hub.
You can move the extender closer towards the hub (using an imaginary straight line). Or if the cabling allows, place the hub higher up in the Annex so it's physically closer the the Office.
Daisy chaining extenders is not recommended as each stage reduces performance.
If you're looking to be connected through Ethernet in your office, you may want to use powerline adapters between your hub and office instead. However you do need to check the sockets in the two rooms are on the same circuit.

Re: Full fibre and complete wifi issues
I will have to take a look at the Powerline option I have been in contact with bt they are sending me another Wi-Fi circle so will try and put that somewhere in the house downstairs and then hopefully it will connect to the hub in the annex and then mine in my office will connect to the one downstairs otherwise I’ll get the engineer out again and drill a hole in the wall upstairs and get a load of wires outside the house lol I don’t care if I will have to pay for that as 15mbps download is painfull lol

@Sjones
That's great to hear.
When you receive the Wi-Fi disc you can use the BT App which has an "improve your Wi-Fi" set up service.
This will help detect and give visual representation for the best places around your home to position the different equipment.

The new disc arrived it was not a bt one but ee it works fine tho and now got a stable connection of 80 down and 50up but seems as I’m paying for fiber 900 I a add m still gonna get the engineer out to move the hub and box upstairs so I can get a wired connection for the best speeds

Re: Full fibre and complete wifi issues
I'm pleased you've seen an improvement @Sjones
I think exploring other options is also a good idea to get the expected speeds so do have a word with our team to see what can be done.
