very random but run out of options ...
I have a history with weird connection for gaming and constantly on a delay when gaming giving other people a fat advantage . Ive tried everything so nothing much you can suggest to me unfortunate . For months engineers have found 0 problems with the line itself and even had a head openreach employee come out and tell me there is nothing they can do . Check my previos posts if you need a catchup .
My question is about socket extenders . Can they interfere with gaming competitively . Can faulty power wall sockets cause issues for gaming and maybe fault power sockets extenders ?
Then again on the same plugs /sockets / wires ive had good patches of internet now and again when the connection for gaming is actually tolerable but right now my connection is constantly delayed whilst gaming .
[ nothing to do with the game servers or console servers as my friend who is on the same internet cabinet as me doesnt have the same issues im having .
Ive bounced between providers and had the same issue on everyone one of them . When the line "settles" im put on some weird delay that causes late bullet reg delayed aim assist and again feel delayed all together no matter how fast i react . sky , bt , sky , vodaphone , bt . Same issue on all . Engineers have done absolutely everything they can do . Im on the best line on the cabinet aswell .
Im just really mind boggled over it all and now im wondering if its my wall sockets / socket extenders that could be a issue somehow . Maybe they cause noise ? but then again the engineers would pick up on that when they run internal check .
So please help me as im fully lost 😞
The best way to connect your equipment is to power your devices, PC , Laptop and router directly in to an electrical socket, not into an electrical extension.
Connect your devices directly to your router using Ethernet cable Cat 5e and above, not by wireless or through any powerline adaptors, Ethernet switches, wireless extenders or anything else.
If you think there is a problem with an electrical socket or you electrical wiring you should get a qualified electrician to check it out.
It would help if you could detail your setup on this thread, especially the internet & ethernet parts.
One obvious check you could try which would not be easy wold be to see if your computer setup works at your friends house using his internet connection. If it works perfectly there then that would help to eliminate at least one possibility. Similarly, getting him to try his computer on your internet would confirm it is a problem at your site. I know these might not be easy to physically try, but would provide a very clear step (hopefully).
