Getting full fibre (Fibre 900) next week along with a Smart Hub 2 so I'm just doing some forward planning in terms of what router/modem settings to tweak to get best and most reliable speeds.
I have 3x Unifi APs in my house so I wont be using the routers wifi so I'm wondering if that means I should be changing any settings to optimise this setup? Any settings that are specifically for the routers wifi that I can turn off which will free up processing power for example?
Slightly unrelated to my main question but I'm keen to setup a guest network but I'm unsure whether this needs done from the router or can be done via the Unifi Controller. This is probably a better question for Ubiquiti based community but thought I'd throw it out there just incase. I'm looking for the guest network to have separate speed cap, parental restrictions and its own SSID if possible?
you can turn off the hub wifi but there is no facility in SH2 to set up guest network
Guess that makes that answer simple then! Hopefully I can set it up, with my criteria, on the Unifi Controller then.
Any tips or tricks on optimising the SM2 and will it play nice with my APs?
There is nothing configurable on the SH2 to 'optimise' it.
So just turn off wifi on router and off we go? I had to do quite a few tweaks on my TP-Link router from previous internet so I'm surprised there aren't useful config tweaks?
