OMG, you let an HP agent control your computer!!!
Obviously we have no idea what they did but try the factory reset of the printer and set it up again.
To restore the printer to the original factory defaults
1. Lift the cartridge access door to expose the cartridge area.
2. While the cartridge access door is open, press and hold (the Power button) and Wireless button
on the back of the printer for three seconds.
Hey folks, you are talking to someone who just uses a printer for domestic use. And is not a tecchie.
My old HP printer cartridges were so expensive that the 100p pm (my av use now) was cheaper. Then my printer failed so I bought this one.
Was having a HP agent access my computer tottery and trying to get it running so bad? Please tell me why not.
I've some tips for tomorrow but any other I'll try. Be kind, think I could be your Mum or grandmother asking for help.

Well it was working before they tinkered with it. It really isn't a good idea to let a complete stranger have access to your computer in any case.

Try the factory reset of the printer, you had it working once. As my mum would be 108 and my grandmother 133 I don't think so! 😁😁 but know what you mean.
Will try tomorrow. Thanks
The Cartridge Shop is a good source of cheap ink, either genuine cartridges or own brand.

The agent did a factory reset. I've just tried what you suggested. There is a white light and it did not go off when I pressed both buttons for three seconds.

"If you have the BT SH2 then you cannot split the 2.4/5ghz networks. The best idea is to go to hub manager 192.168.1.254 into address bar then go to advanced settings then wireless and turn off the 5ghz network and then try and onnect your printer once it connects to 2.4ghz WiFi and working then go back and turn 5ghzwifi back on. Hub should now stay connected".
Tried that. HP Smart still could not find the printer. The white light on the printer did not change.

"you not only need to reset the printer, but you then need to delete the printer from the app too and follow the setup routine like a pedant. It's also usually easier to set up the printer using the app on your phone and then add to Windows or Mac using their app - and give it time."
Tried to reset pressing both buttons -nothing happened. The white light did not go off.
The printer 6200 with a different serial number cannot be moved from the app. It is there under hard wired. If I try with WIFI then app on the iMac will not find the printer.
I have tried many times with my phone - it searches for the printer but does not find it.
Presumably you had no problems setting it up in the first instance, just that you were unable to register for Instaprint.
Make sure you have deleted your old printer from your devices.
I don't know how I managed it yesterday. But everything I've tried has not worked.
Unplugged it. Tried the two buttons. Now have a purple light. Tried with iMac and phone on WIFI and they don't find the printer. Tried wirth ethernet and the wrong printer comes up and I can't delete it and try again.
