High ping spikes for no reason

I have been experiencing very frequent ping spikes for the year. I play a lot of online videogames where ping is crucial and I've just been ignoring the issue but it has driven me crazy. No amount of calls or chats with the support has resolved the issue. No, I am not downloading stuff in the background. Yes, I am using an ethernet cable. I simply don't know what to do. Ping tests often show my latency on a constant 5-6ms for a few seconds and then it shoots up to 100-200ms for 20 seconds, and the cycle repeats. There are days where I have no issue with latency and others where it's a constant problem and I can't reach below 30ms while idling. I don't know what to do.

Re: High ping spikes for no reason

Hi @ZeMedicTF2

Welcome to the community.

Are there any other devices connected to the router that could be causing these ping spikes? If you're able to, it may be worth disconnecting some devices, to try and pin point if one of them is causing a problem.

What steps have the support team offered so far? Have you had a replacement hub?

Chris
